Construction Senior Project Manager
Responsibilities Related Midwest is seeking an experienced construction professional for managing and directing all aspects of a construction project. The candidate must possess the knowledge and experience to manage the entire construction process, including but not limited to: pre-development planning, scheduling, logistics, cost management, financial reporting, and construction operations. Additionally, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Related’s design, development and financial teams along with third party engineers, consultants, and government agencies such as HUD, AAHC, state and city officials. The position will be based in the Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Direct, manage and monitor all phases of the project to ensure compliance with contract documents, company and client standards. Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors. Resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Formulate and execute the project schedule. Conduct regular site walks to ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards and schedule obligations. Implement document control procedures for all construction related documents including contractual agreements and insurance documents. Manage the scope review, bid and award process. Assists in all other project accounting functions including but not limited to minimizing exposure and risk during the project. Review RFI’s, shop drawings and submittals submitted by the Subcontractors to verify they are consistent with project requirements. Visit critical fabricators to track and monitor progress of the work against schedule, monthly billings and budget. Negotiate all change orders. Manage the permit process and comply with DOB and related governmental requirements. Directly responsible for maintaining budget, change orders, purchase orders, and general conditions project costs. Hold regular status meetings with project team. Responsible for implementing the Corporate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Directives (EDID) at the project level. Qualifications Minimum of 15 years construction experience with a focus on mid/high multi family residential new construction projects. Self motivated and results oriented decision maker. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in writing and verbally. Significant knowledge of architectural, structural, civil and MEP systems. Extensive onsite construction/field experience. Well-developed project management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Degree in one of the following disciplines is preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering + Management, Architecture, other related fields or experience Previous experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Building Connected, Plan Grid, Textura, eBuilder, Microsoft Suite or similar platforms strongly preferred.
