Construction Safety Specialist - Northeast

About the role:

The Construction Safety Specialist will perform construction safety related duties on projects of varying type throughout the United States. Prior construction safety experience is required.

This is a per project contract position on an as needed basis, with opportunity for long term placement. MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES AS REQUIRED.

Construction Safety Specialist Responsibilities:

Duties as required by 1926 OSHA Standards for ConstructionEnsure compliance for the safety of site workers and general publicDevelop safety kick-off presentations and conduct on-site orientations and pre-shift meetingsConduct daily site safety inspections, safety assessments and safety auditsInvestigate incidents and complete associated paperworkConduct risk assessmentsMake recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or healthCompile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management or customerServe as company liaison with overseeing municipalities, OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agenciesMaintain all safety related documentation

Education/Qualifications:

Fluent in English, written and verbalOSHA 30 Hr. for Construction (required)5 year minimum Construction Safety Experience (required)Certified Health and Safety Technician Certified (preferred)Certified Safety Professional Certified (preferred)Safety Trains Supervisor for Construction (preferred)OSHA Outreach Trainer for Construction Certified (preferred)Collegiate Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or equivalent (preferred)Ability to teach and train others on safety programsAbility to plan and implement projectsAbility to identify known potential exposures and recommending corrective actionAbility to read and understand drawings and specificationsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) (required)Technological competency (required)

The salary for this position can range from $70,000 - $94,930 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
