Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob Description
Lead Program Manager for the development and construction of a Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Facility. You will be responsible for managing the development, construction, and transition to operation of the LNG facility, utilizing our project management methodologies and processes. This position involves leading the project team, risk management, and coordinating with various contractors and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
+ Utilize project management methodologies and processes based on PMI Standards to achieve scope, schedule, and cost objectives while effectively managing risks.
+ Support program and project governance reviews.
+ Determine specific business needs and deliverables of a project, and establish and manage costs, resources, performance measurements, timeline, and project deliverables.
+ Perform cost/benefit analysis of projects and ensure feasibility.
+ Determine appropriate project resource and staffing skillsets, and assess strategies to reduce overall project risk.
+ Manage applicable project contracts in conjunction with sourcing personnel, including preparing RFPs, evaluating responses, participating in negotiations, and interpreting contract language.
+ Develop and execute communication and stakeholder management plans, including reporting project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
+ Ensure training needs are met for project team members and users of the project.
+ Ensure smooth transition of deliverables upon project completion, including proper training for operational teams and closure of work orders.
+ Utilize organizational change management methodology within the context of project management.
+ Demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Use computer software programs (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
+ Work in a diverse work environment.
+ Perform work under the direct supervision of a manager or director.
Essential Skills
+ Construction management, power plant construction, engineering, contractor oversight, natural gas, LNG
+ Experience in LNG plant build (conversion or new)
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
+ 5-20 years of power plant construction experience, including managing large multi-discipline projects from inception to operation
+ Experience overseeing civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities
+ Strong mechanical skills, specifically in the installation of pipe and pipe systems
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in project management, engineering, or a related area
+ Experience as an owner's representative in construction management for an electric utility
+ Quality assurance experience is a bonus
Work Environment
The project team will include a contract administrator, cost control agent, scheduler, several engineers, an onsite construction manager, and a QA person. The team will consist of 10-15 personnel involved throughout the project. The project involves converting a coal-fired plant to an LNG plant. The current stage includes working with the owner's engineer to develop the drawing package for bidding and undergoing an RFP for an EPC contract. The project is expected to span two years with potential opportunities to work on other sites afterward.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
