Construction Project Engineer

Functional Areas of Responsibility:

Contract administration Material Expediting Quantity Reporting Schedule Updates Estimating Document Control Compliance with company policies and procedures

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Contract Administration

Quantity reporting Document control that include items such as drawings and specifications, submittals, RFIs, correspondence, daily reports, and meeting notes in project Document Filing Structure (DFS) Review submittals for proper coordination and adherence to the plans and specifications Attend progress, planning, and safety meetings Assist with mobilization activities on the project; working with the superintendent Perform a variety of tasks associated with completion of a project, including closeout documentation, completion reports, collection of final monies due, etc. Prepare closeout documents Support customer pay request requirements as assigned Perform quantity takeoffs on drawing changes Distribute change requests for pricing and schedule impact. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and quality reviews in the DFS

Scheduling

Ensure timely procurement and delivery of all required construction materials and permanent materials in support of project schedule requirements. Assist in creating project and proposal schedules Update progress in support of schedule reporting Assist superintendent with 3-week look ahead schedules.

Estimating

Quantity takeoffs Pricing of certain components of an estimate Solicitation of subcontractor and vendor bid proposals Evaluation of subcontractor and vendor bids Assist in site visits

Construction Operations

Provide supervision and coordination of subcontractors Assist superintendent with day to day activities such as materiel deliveries and coordination, equipment delivery and coordination Assist superintendent in the development of Work Plans Review daily timesheets to ensure accurate job cost data Perform safety observations and ensure correction of hazardous conditions Perform quality inspections of self-perform work and subcontractor work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications

Technical

Four year degree in technical discipline. Read and interpret project drawings and specifications Demonstrated collegiate-level computer skills, mathematics, communication skills, and technical writing, with an aptitude for mastering the additional skills required of the position Basic understanding of engineering or construction principles Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
