THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting a range of advanced technical and administrative tasks related to the department's roadside rest areas, welcome centers, and state-operated Driver’s License and Photo Exam Centers. Your role will involve providing guidance on policy matters, engaging in the planning, assignment, direction, and coordination of services linked to building design, maintenance, construction, and repair. Furthermore, you will serve as the Construction Project Administrator for the Department of Transportation buildings located in Districts 1, 10, 11, and 12.
Your role will encompass the management and supervision of the infrastructure, landscaping, and facilities associated with approximately 13 Roadside Rest Areas, 4 Welcome Centers, and 7 State-Owned Driver’s License and Photo Exam Centers. You will collaborate with district and county representatives to identify and prioritize initiatives for the District's Five-Year Strategic Plan, as well as manage and supervise facility construction projects. In addition, you will offer technical expertise and support to staff in developing technical specifications and contract requirements, while also assisting fellow administrators with intricate construction and maintenance endeavors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ This position may be eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).
+ This position may require availability for 24-hour emergency response.
+ Position will be headquartered in PennDOT Engineering District Office or County Maintenance Office located in: District 1 (Oil City), District 10 (Indiana), District 11 (Bridgeville) or District 12 (Uniontown), depending on space availability.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities;or
+ Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor’s degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.
Special Requirements:
+ You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
