About the Supplier Diversity Office
The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) is an agency within the Executive Office for Administration and Finance of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with a mission of serving diverse and small businesses and agencies of the Commonwealth. The mission of the SDO is to serve minority, women, veteran, service-disabled veteran, disability, LGBT-owned, and small businesses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including the responsibility to certify eligible businesses. About the Programs Engagement Team
The Programs Engagement Team provides program management for the SDO’s Supplier Diversity Program (SDP), Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP), Municipal Construction Affirmative Marketing Program (MCAMP), Veteran Business Program, and Individuals with Disabilities Pilot Program. In addition, team members conduct outreach to diverse and small businesses regarding diversity certification and public contracting opportunities (both goods and services and construction).

About This Role
The Construction Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the day-to-day management of SDO’s two public construction-focused programs: the Municipal Construction Affirmative Marketing Program (MCAMP) and Veteran Business Program, which promote the inclusion of minority-, women-, veteran-, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses in certain municipal public construction projects. This role requires communication and collaboration with other members of SDO staff and external stakeholders such as state agencies, municipalities, associated owner project managers, and prime contractors. This individual will receive supervision from the Construction Program Lead and may be assigned tasks by the Director of Programs Engagement or the Executive Director.

Essential Job Duties
These duties are not inclusive of all day-to-day responsibilities of the position.

Assist Construction Program Lead with setting project-specific goals for the inclusion of minority-owned and women-owned businesses in state-assisted vertical construction projects as required by MCAMP.Ensure timely and accurate reporting for municipal construction projects covered by MCAMP and Veteran Business Program.Attend in-person and virtual meetings and exhibitions to promote municipal public construction opportunities and SDO certification.Assist with the recruitment of qualified minority-, women-, veteran-, and service-disabled veteran-owned construction and design businesses to participate in municipal public construction projects.Assist with the development of content (such as PowerPoint presentations and job aids) to meet the networking, matchmaking, training, and capacity building needs of diverse and small businesses in the construction industry.Provide feedback and ideas for continuous improvement regarding policies, programs, and unit operations.Review and analyze data to prepare reports as requested by leadership.Assist with documentation and organization of business processes, procedures, and guidelines related to MCAMP and Veteran Business Program.Respond to inquiries from agency staff and others to provide information regarding MCAMP and Veteran Business Program via email, telephone, virtual, and in-person meetings.

Essential Skills Qualifications

Understanding of all construction trades and the Construction Specification Institute’s classification of trades.Understanding of design-phase projects, associated disciplines, and specialties.Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Massachusetts as required for meetings and events.Self-motivated and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Comfort with public speaking in both in-person and virtual settings.Experience with virtual collaboration tools such as Office365 (including SharePoint and Teams) and Zoom.Strong judgment, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Desired Skills Qualifications

Experience with the Commonwealth’s supplier diversity and affirmative marketing programs.Knowledge of construction procurement processes under relevant Massachusetts General Law.Working knowledge of DCAMM prime and filed sub-bidder certification.Understanding of and ability to work with union and non-union construction projects.Experience in construction project development, estimating, management, and supplier diversity reporting to help contractors meet diversity goals.Knowledge of diverse business certification processes and requirements.

III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
