Summary: Seeking a Construction Manager with extensive experience in building projects for transportation infrastructure, particularly tollhouse/tollbooth and weigh station projects.
Requirements:
15+ years of experience in managing building construction projects in the transportation or infrastructure sector.
VDOT experience and familiarity with tollhouse/tollbooth or weigh station projects.
Ability to be on-site at Norfolk VA - Virginia Beach.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Experience working on VDOT or similar state transportation projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
Familiarity with Virginia Department of General Services' (DGS) Construction & Professional Services Manual (CPSM).
Responsibilities:
Serve as the main contact for construction activities, ensuring communication with VDOT representatives and stakeholders.
Ensure quality control through review of material testing and inspection reports.
Identify and resolve on-site issues proactively.
Develop construction schedules aligning with project timelines.
Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, design consultants, and VDOT representatives.
Manage contractor performance including submittals, work orders, sublet requests, and force accounts.
Pay: 145000-170000
