Job Description
As a Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for removing water and debris from flooded basements, cleaning and sanitizing affected areas, and ensuring the proper disposal of damaged materials. You will assist with the setup and operation of drying equipment, perform minor repairs, and use heavy equipment like jackhammers. Your role will also involve digging trenches, installing cement, lifting and moving heavy objects, and ensuring all work complies with health and safety guidelines. Effective communication with team members and supervisors is essential for maintaining an efficient workflow.
ResponsibilitiesRemove water and debris from flooded basements using pumps, wet vacuums, and other equipment.Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold and mildew growth.Dispose of damaged materials and items in accordance with safety regulations.Assist with the setup and operation of drying equipment such as dehumidifiers and air movers.Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.Use a jackhammer to break up concrete and other hard surfaces as required.Dig trenches to facilitate drainage and water removal.Install cement and other materials to repair and reinforce basement structures.Lift and move heavy objects, including debris and equipment, safely and efficiently.Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety guidelines.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.Essential SkillsExperience in construction, general labor, and using power tools.Proficiency in using hand tools and tape measures.Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.Experience using a jackhammer and other heavy equipment.Knowledge of trench digging and cement installation techniques.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in cleaning, construction, or a related field is preferred.Ability to work in wet, dirty, and potentially hazardous environments.Why Work Here?

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
