This is a non-union positionEnbridge Gas Utah is hiring a Construction Inspector II to work within our Gas Distribution Construction and Operations group. The Inspector II will be responsible for communicating installation standard practices and policies, to contractors and developers while preparing inspection reports, including contractor evaluations, completion reports, and service line installation orders.

Here’s what you will do:
Perform all duties of Construction Inspector I.
Use GPS to:
collect new Main and Service As-Builts.
collect Replacement and Maintenance work.
Retire Mains, Services, and related points.
Become familiar using advanced functionality of CartoPac (Start Measure, Reverse Vertex).
Communicate installation standard practices and policies, to contractors and developers.
Prepare inspection reports, including contractor evaluations, completion reports, and service line installation orders.
Resolve complaints and problems with customers, preconstruction personnel, and company crews.
Coach developers to get projects ready prior to installation.
Documents inspection work in the HUB.
Works within the scope of permit issued by state, county, or city when applicable.
Assists with large replacement projects, from design to completion.
Who you are:
You have:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as Construction Inspector I, or equivalent experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
Knowledge of GPS data collector.
Knowledge of Range Finder (LTI).
Knowledge of Barcode scanner.
Knowledge of VRS (State of Utah).
Knowledge of HUB status and workflows for mains and services.
Knowledge of all fusion equipment, such as Socket, Butt, and Saddle fusion tools.
Knowledge of company standard practices, emergency plan, and General Agreement.
Knowledge of steel and plastic pipe limitations including gas line construction, gas control, pipe joining techniques, and cathodic protection installation.
Knowledge of state, county, and city codes and ordinances related to gas installation and usage.
Knowledge of basic math.
Knowledge of, and ability to use, personal computer and related software.
You are:
Skilled in relating interpersonally with internal and external customers.
Skilled in operation of pipeline locator.
Able to read and interpret maps.
Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Able to adapt quickly to technological changes in electronic systems.
Able to perform under deadlines and stressful situations.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.) and requires routine use of proper PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, FR clothing, and work boots per company policies.
Position requires continuous travel throughout the service territory with frequent stops, entering/exiting the company vehicle, safely parking in a wide variety of situations, and driving in construction zones.
Position requires prolonged use of a computer keyboard and scanner.
Dominion Legacy Pay Grade – N38
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
