Role
The Construction Inspector position monitors the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for projects of routine to moderate complexity. Assists PM and CM in job responsibilities; includes time both in the office as well as out in the field.
Responsibilities
Oversees, inspects, and monitors contractual fieldwork which includes excavations, boring, placement of hand hole, aerial strand and fiber cable installation, and restoration of work areas. Schedules work and inspection phases with contractors, superintendent, and agency personnel. Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to operations; ensures adherence to proper state-regulated safety procedures. Takes field measurements of trenches, restoration areas, and/or street cuts based on the drawings/as-builts to verify contractor billing; checks placement of and performs quality reviews of construction. Understands and maintains clearances (electrical and communication requirements). Recommends changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or provide project cost savings. Maintains project records which include daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, and pay quantity records. Evaluates and monitors progress schedules, prepares work orders, and monthly estimates. Uploads documents and task advancement. Schedules and attends 3rd party walks. Manages release of materials. Reviews A&E deliverables (structural, drawings, 1As). Participates in bid process and provides input. Advances PMT tasks and completes administrative tasks, as needed.Education/Certifications

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
Will be required to travel to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions 90% of the time. Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions 10% of the time.
Compensation Information: For New York City, Colorado, California and Washington residents the expected salary range is between $48,000 -$69,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 5% of annual salary. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
