Foth is currently seeking team-focused and results-oriented Construction Engineer who is looking for long-term career growth within our construction services team. This position will be working out of our Des Moines, IA location actively participating in construction administration and observation of municipal, transportation and federal-aid projects. As a Construction Engineer at Foth, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to work autonomously on diverse projects and witness firsthand the incredible impact your work has on the community! Primary Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with contractors and owners to deliver a project that is representative of plans and specificationsCommunicate with contractor and various stakeholders to identify schedule conflicts, design errors and/or areas for improved constructability; work to resolve issues preventing schedule delays or additional costCoordinate/provide inspection for materials incorporated into the project, such as PCC, HMA, soils, aggregates, etc.Document daily activities occurring on project site utilizing computer software, iPad, etc.Utilize GPS units to provide survey grade measurements as needed for construction documentation, record drawings, etc.Communicate with residents, business owner and various stakeholders as neededProvide necessary documentation (such as existing conditions, associated costs from contractors, as-built documentation) for plan changes, RFI’s and change ordersCreate pay applications from field measured quantities and coordinate with contractor for approvalLead weekly construction meetings; prepare necessary agendasRequired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or Civil Engineering or closely related fieldPreferred Qualifications: Construction administration and observation experience in municipal infrastructure construction projects, either through internship/coop or fulltime professional roleWhy Foth: Established Reputation: With over 86 years of experience, we are proud to be 100% member-owned.Dynamic Culture: Benefit from a values-based, client-centered, and flexible work environment, with ample professional growth opportunities and supportive colleagues, contributing to our impressive 92+% member retention rate.Challenging Projects: Engage in diverse and exciting projects that promote continuous professional growth and development.
