Clover Leaf is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to join our team and support construction and maintenance projects at our client's DOE facilities on-site in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This position requires leadership experience and a strong background in construction engineering to ensure projects are executed according to approved project documents and design specifications. The Construction Engineer will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, and providing technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Job Description:

The Construction Engineer will be responsible for:

Ensuring technical aspects of construction and maintenance projects conform to approved project documents by monitoring facility maintenance and construction activities. Providing input during scoping, design, execution, and closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified. Expediting project execution by identifying issues, coordinating technical solutions, and providing guidance to the construction team through approved procedures. Leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers and field technicians. Conducting field verifications to oversee, facilitate, and enforce compliance with drawings, specifications, and national codes and standards. Suggesting, developing, and implementing process improvements. Developing Material Take Offs (MTOs) and ensuring compliance with engineering and design specifications. Working independently on complex tasks and overseeing multiple simultaneous construction projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and 6 years of practical work experience, or 14 years of relevant industry experience. Current registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable. Demonstrated expert knowledge of construction engineering principles and field verification of construction work. Proven expertise in collaborating with design engineers and constructors to resolve facility and infrastructure engineering issues. Advanced knowledge of industry, regulatory, or DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria, including DOE Order 426.2, ASME B31, NEC, ASME AG-1, and ACI. Experience in construction work planning, facility maintenance, installation techniques, and design review processes. Proficiency in reviewing engineering submittals, purchase requisitions, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and drawings. Experience with design and/or installation of facility and infrastructure systems. Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers and engineering technologists. Desired Qualifications:

Expert organizational skills for overseeing multiple construction projects. Advanced experience in construction or design in nuclear, accelerator, laboratory, or industrial facilities. Proficiency in DOE and LANL Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering. CANDIDATES MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN Q CLEARANCE WITH HRP.
