RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Construction Discipline Engineer (CDE) Pipe/Mechanical - Engineering (CO102)
Position Description:
Field Engineer is responsible for planning and technical oversight of field construction activities within a specified discipline associated with procurement, fabrication, installation, modification and maintenance of systems and components. Coordinates with Design agencies to ensure timely issuance of new design or design changes. Walk down and review designs for constructability, resolve design problems encountered in the field during construction and meets with and discusses solutions with Design Engineers. Inspects / verifies materials, equipment, and construction workmanship and assures compliance with drawings, specifications and code requirements. Coordinates with Quality Control to ensure the installation meets the requirements. Participates in turnover activities. Supports / participates in start-up and functional check out of equipment and systems.
Position requires a thorough understanding of Construction Engineering principles and ability to apply these principles to field conditions. Experience in the preparation of computer-based construction work execution plans (work Packages) including job specific hazards analysis, i.e. Asset Suite and Assisted Hazard Analysis or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in **(specified discipline) engineering and at least 5 years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) field engineering orAssociate's degree in (specified discipline) engineering and 5-10 years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) engineering orHigh school diploma and 10+ years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) engineeringWorking knowledge of discipline specific codes and standardsPrevious experience with generating work execution plans (preferably utilizing the Asset Suite work control system)Previous experience with generating job hazards analysisPrevious experience performing material take off and procurement**Specific Discipline = (Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Civil, Instruments and Controls) as determined by requestor

Experienced with pipe / tubing fabrication and installationExperienced with pipe support fabrication and installationExperienced with pipe testing, hydrostatic and pneumaticFamiliar with National Codes ASME Piping codes B31.1 and B31.3Capable of interpreting design drawings, P&ID’s and OrthographicsKnowledge of SRS specific piping guides and standards is a plusFamiliar with National Codes and Standards (ASME relative to Tank fabrication/installation, rotating and stationary Equipment, H&V, Insulation, etc.) and capable of interpreting and analyzing requirements to ensure complianceExperienced in H&V fabrication / installation / testingExperienced in setting of equipment, pumps and alignmentsKnowledge of SRS specific mechanical guides and standards is a plusExperience in developing ordinary and critical lift plans is a plusExperienced in radiological work planning and hazard analysis is desirableCapable of climbing and spending extended periods of time in the fieldCapable of obtaining qualification to work in radiological work areasCompetencies Required
Ancillary Details Of The Roles
Work hours:
A 40-hour workweek is scheduled. SRR construction utilizes a 10 hour per day - four days per week schedule. A standard work week is Monday through Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm. However, alternate schedules could be employed. Workweek excludes SRR holidays.
