Summary About the Position: Serve as a Senior Congressional Actions Coordinator for the Congressional Inquiry Division with responsibility for providing expert advice and guidance in the handling of senior leader inquiries from Members of Congress. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Responsibilities Analyze written correspondence and telephonic requests to determine pertinent issues. Research sources from which to obtain information and facts to provide comprehensive and accurate replies. Handle varied and simultaneous ongoing correspondence, each at different stages of completion and covering diverse functional areas. Initiate and effect appropriate coordination with the Department of the Army, the Office of the Secretary of the Army, Department of Defense, and other Executive Branch agencies, to include the White House, when appropriate. Provide advice and guidance to functional experts outside OCLL on how best to articulate official Army decisions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing tasking instructions and input for the preparation of official written/telephonic congressional inquiries; interpreting constituent casework policies for initiatives that are of critical interest to Congress; and partnering with those both within and outside of the organization to execute high visibility tasks such as Congressional staff briefings, Pentagon and HQDA familiarization and facility tours for Congressional offices, and/or assisting with DoD/Congressional ceremonial events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Partnering Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
