Configuration Engineer

Work You’ll Do:

Create / maintain the material master data in ERP (SAP) and create / upkeep of CAD data within the PTC Windchill system.Oversee the allocation of scheduled tasks to ensure optimal resource utilization.Collaborate closely with teams in Production Planning, Material Management, Master Solution, Continuous Improvement, and R&D to ensure that production teams are adhering to the correct standards.Take responsibility for the introduction of new standard products as well as modifications to existing products and manage the maintenance of the standard item master for the Bill of Materials (BOM).Create and implement support documents such as help sheets, design guides, and calculation sheets to assist engineering teams in the design process.

Team:

The Configuration Department is responsible for implementing and managing configuration processes for all new and existing standard projects. This role involves close collaboration with the Design, Production, Master Solution, Continuous Improvement, R&D, and Sales teams to enhance the existing data structure and ensure effective data maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties to a satisfactory level, including demonstrating leadership.The candidate must hold a University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering or Tool & Die making.With at least two (2) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficiency in CAD systems, SAP, standard design practices, and standard machine practices is required, with experience in Standardization being an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Analyze, resolve, and delegate issues with the development of new product/drawing processes that will be standardized.Provide SAP, Windchill and standardization expertise to Design Teams and other internal departments.Exposure in Creo 7.0, Windchill 11.1 & SAP MM is an added advantage.The candidate must be able to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints and schematics, evaluate complex technical reports, and communicate effectively with management and external suppliers.
