Job Title: Concrete Technician
Job Description

This position involves working with concrete and soil on open construction sites. The successful candidate will perform tests on the density and compaction of soil and concrete using specialized gauges. Additional tests include sieving to analyze soil grain size, air testing for concrete standards, and other relevant geotechnical evaluations. The role requires driving to various sites, conducting tests, and reporting findings.

ResponsibilitiesPerform density and compaction tests on soil and concrete using gauges.Conduct additional tests such as sieving and air testing to ensure material standards.Drive to multiple construction sites within a 50-mile radius, primarily within 25 miles of home.Communicate with construction workers to address and rectify issues.Write reports and draw maps of the site to document daily oversight and test results.Record and submit hours and mileage every week.Essential SkillsAbility to consistently lift 50 lbs.1+ year of school or site experience.Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Earth Science or Geology preferred.ACI or MCA certifications preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The role requires working outside 95% of the time in various weather conditions. This includes traveling to job sites, conducting tests, and collaborating with construction teams. The remaining 5% involves working in a lab setting. Candidates must wear work boots and jeans, with no shorts or cut-off shirts permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
