Stephens & Smith Construction Foundation Division is currently seeking a full-time dynamic and motivated Craftsman to join our team. The Craftsman has responsibility for assisting the Supervisor in training and mentoring employees, the completion of assigned paperwork and demonstrating proven leadership and maintaining and guaranteeing Stephens & Smith quality, work ethics, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities (Includes, but not limited to):
+ Accurately measuring forms and ensuring their proper placement.
+ Installing rebar, wooden bucks, prefab windows, beam pockets, anchor bolts, and other embedments as necessary.
+ Respects diversity and authority, and applies the Golden Rule at all times. Be open, honest, and accepting of other people’s values and needs.
+ Prepare work areas by cleaning, leveling, and removing debris
+ Accurately measures materials, calculates dimensions, and plans the layout of structures to ensure precise cuts and proper fit.
+ Proper placement of consolidation of concrete
+ Possess the expertise and skill to operate tools and equipment safely and proficiently while maintaining a professional approach to include but not limited to: Builder’s Levels, Theodolites and power hand tools
+ Layout using field control and documents
+ Proper form removal techniques
+ Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
+ Position and secure rebar within concrete forms, ensuring proper spacing, alignment, and overlap as per design requirements.
+ Responsible for aiding laborers in the efficient loading and unloading of materials and equipment. Additionally, they are required to track the utilization of materials, equipment/tools, and allocated resources for each project.

+ Periodically lifting up to 100 lbs.
+ Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and chemicals, etc. Chemicals will be handled according to Company policy and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
+ Periodically exposed to heights and ability to transfer to other divisions to work on heights.
+ Continually working with high noise levels and significant vibration associated with the equipment/tools, and jobsite environmental conditions.
+ Regularly works under pressure meeting project schedules and budget guidelines.
+ Continually work with diversified work groups and at times confronts and manages aggressive personalities.
+ Continually able to work eight (8) to ten (10) hour work days each week and occasional weekends.
+ Continually utilize specific vision abilities required to perform the essential functions of the job, i.e., close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
+ A high school diploma or GED is a required
+ Minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in the construction field or vocational training.
+ Having the ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse personalities.
+ A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record are necessary.
+ Proficient knowledge of state and federal laws is essential to operate company vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT guidelines.
+ Capable of working independently and effectively under pressure to meet project schedules and budgetary constraints.
+ Strong ability to multi-task and organizational skills to manage caseloads and work in fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to learn and apply assistance in all areas of field, tool and equipment operations conforming to company personnel, production and safety standards.
