Position Purpose:

Exhibits and models a welcoming, helpful and caring presence while delivering specific information, directions and assistance to patient(s), families, visitors and staff within MercyOne.  Creates a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors and clients.  Models excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and professional abilities when interacting with all persons.

What you will do:

Directs, guides, accompanies and/or transports persons to various sites, locations and areas within MercyOne Medical Center, along with offering resource materials and general informational assistance. 

Maintains the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of professionals, patients and their families, coworkers, medical staff, and the public while performing general summary details. 

Explains and assists in the implementation of hospital policies and procedures for visitors, patients, and the public.  

Demonstrate appropriate and effective written, verbal, and nonverbal communication

Performs secretarial/clerical functions

Performs other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age, and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law. 

Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire. 

1+ years of customer service experience demonstrating the following: Emotional Intelligence; Proactive; Inquisitive; Resourceful; Compassionate; Ability to work autonomously; Basic computer skills; Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
