Summary You will serve as a COMPUTER SCIENTIST in the Integrated Command and Control & Intel Systems (IC2&IS) Division of NAWCAD WEBSTER OUTLYING FIELD. Responsibilities You will serve as a Mission Integration and Special Programs Lead in the Strategic Platform Comms Branch, an expert technical consultant to managers and sponsors regarding IT systems analysis, design, implementation, and accreditation. You will utilize engineering and operational architecture technical expertise to lead Integrated Command and Control and Intel Systems Division efforts, and tailor existing rapid organic Lead System Integration (oLSI) processes. You will provide comprehensive support for the development, acquisition, integration, testing, and modernization of communication and collaboration technologies. You will develop diverse teams to produce solutions that enable Sponsors to achieve their missions, enabling information superiority through development and integration of cutting-edge networking, communications, and electronics systems technologies. You will oversee the portfolio of Branch projects, serving as an organic Lead Systems Integrator, accountable for all aspects of project execution including project management, systems engineering, production, integration, and support efforts. You will interface with senior leadership within the Division and Sponsor organizations to evaluate and prioritize incoming requirements. You will team with Sponsor organizations to identify and evaluate future operational requirements and develop future expansion opportunities for the Strategic Platform Comms Branch. You will provide mentorship to junior personnel and support Division personnel development initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing systems engineering direction and technical leadership to engineers, technicians, and IT professionals; 2) Implementing and managing the execution of rapid integration projects involving of Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Combat Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, computer networks, IT systems and related A/V and electronic systems; 3) Leading technical innovation and organizational change to adapt with industry growth in technology; 4) Coordinating with strategic leaders and tactical partners in addition to industry to develop immediate and future solutions for the warfighter; 5) Providing technical engineering mentorship and project management direction to subordinates and other professionals. 6) Overseeing the Divisions risk mangement Process Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards: Bachelor's degree in computer science OR Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Evaluation of Education: Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
