In this unique role within the Compliance and Economic Crime Office (CECO) team, you’ll be an integral part of Santander’s Second Line of defence at an exciting time of transformation and execution.
You’ll be supporting the delivery of Compliance Risk reporting and governance for the function, by leading on risk profile reporting and being responsible for embedding, managing and reporting on the key risk drivers of the Compliance Risk profile. You’ll drive the investigation into risk breaches for robust reporting and informing the Chief Compliance Officer of actions taken for path to tolerance.

The difference you’ll make:
Driving the development of the risk reporting process for the function including the use of automation and supporting the risk profile to be more data-led
Shaping the risk appetite metrics, including ongoing monitoring and analysis for Compliance Risk reporting
Identifying risk themes aligning to customer outcomes and performing root cause analysis for Exec-level and Board level reporting including authoring of risk papers
Owning responsibility for the governance of the monthly Conduct and Compliance Forum including reporting dashboard and onward escalation of items
Helping drive the transformation for simplification of reporting and governance at SanUK and Group level
Providing expertise partnering with other functions and business areas to ensure adherence to relevant policies and frameworks
What you’ll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
Previous experience in a Compliance Reporting and Governance role with an understanding of conduct and data privacy regulations
Proven ability to collate, analyse and report data via dashboard creation, managerial reports, forum packs and other tools
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders
In depth understanding of risk management identification and analysis including thematic root cause analysis
It would also be nice for you to have:
Understanding of how developments in AI and Climate change are affecting Regulatory Compliance
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to prioritise workload taking in to account urgency and volume
Willingness to drive delivery and a keen interest in personal development
What else you need to know:
Our preferred location for this role is Milton Keynes, but we’ll also consider locating the role in Glasgow.
We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
