The position of Compliance Manager Americas is a member of the Global Ethics & Compliance (“E&C”) Team within the TE Law Department. This role reports to and works closely with the Compliance Counsel Americas to oversee the enforcement of the E&C policies and guidelines and support the deployment of various compliance program elements, training initiatives, risk assessments, communication plans, and investigation activity across this region.
Responsibilities and Functions:
Program, Policies and Procedures
Works with the Compliance Counsel Americas, commercial legal counsels and other stakeholders to identify and assess ethics and compliance risks in the region; supports the implementation of E&C processes, guidelines and procedures owned by E&C team. Works with the Compliance Counsel Americas, as well as the E&C Team to develop global and local policies and procedures and oversee their deployment. Assists in achieving compliance objectives by contributing with information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Leads and/or assists the Compliance Counsel Americas in the deployment and improvement of compliance programs/projects and their regular management, including Guide to Ethical Conduct Certification, Ethical Connections, Compliance Liaisons appointment, Business Partner Management Program and supplier onboarding approval, and conflict of interest/gifts & hospitality reviews. This will include the use and management of various internal systems/software. Collaborates with the Compliance Counsel Americas to monitor and analyze regulatory standards for impact on business operations. Maintains awareness of trends and changes. Collects and analyzes data to support risk identification and mitigation, as well as continuous evolution of the compliance program. Supports regional Compliance Counsel to roll out compliance programs/projects. Responsibilities and Functions continued:Training, Advising and Communications
Advises business units and corporate functions on ethics or compliance related questions to promote and ensure compliance with TE policies, guidelines and values. Leads and/or assists in developing and executing regional communication plans in accordance with global compliance strategy and annual plans in order to enhance awareness across the region. Assists the Compliance Counsel Americas to develop or tailor country-specific training materials, coordinate and conduct compliance trainings in the Americas, including New Employees Onboarding, Leadership Foundations, etc. Continuous professional development by participating in educational opportunities, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional organizationsAd Hoc Duties or Projects
Leads and/or assists with investigation of reported misconducts and ensures the proper investigation of such cases in accordance with the company’s investigation guidelines, follows up on corrective and/or disciplinary action. General support on M&A activities in the region including participation in Due Diligence efforts and supporting the Compliance Counsel Americas in preparing compliance risk assessments, and general Compliance integration. Performs ad hoc or other duties and special projects for the Law Department on an as-needed basis. In addition, successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
Bachelor’s degree (Law, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or another related field) 5-7 years of experience in auditing, internal controls, risk management, internal investigations, in-house legal, human resources, or compliance function in a Multi-National Company. Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish required. Self-motivated, solutions-oriented and details-driven. Ability to demonstrate sound judgement, manage multiple projects in parallel, and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate positively, effectively, and efficiently with various types of stakeholders and address difficult situations in a professional, calm, assertive and proactive manner. Ability to build and maintain key relationships with both internal and external customers. Skilled in MS Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to travel as required. • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $127,800 – $159,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
