Complex General Manager
The Opportunity: The General Manager provides leadership and guidance with the ability to influence a positive change throughout all departments within the facility. The General Manger must be able to manage different levels of experience and provide improvement regardless of tenure. The General Manager must be able to analyze data to determine root causes of efficiency deficits and drive change throughout all operations to improve OEE, utilizing Six Sigma methodology and Continuous Process Improvement initiatives. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: \u2022 Establishes priorities designed to effectively and efficiently operate all departmental activities. \u2022 Evaluates the needs of all processes on an on-going basis to determine optimal staffing levels required to accomplish production goals and metrics. \u2022 Works with maintenance to establish and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program to adequately support the production goals and process design. \u2022 Establishes and maintains operational budget within established guidelines. \u2022 Evaluates current operations and implements improvements within the operations. \u2022 Provides feedback to the Area Operations Leader regarding resource needs to support the goals of all processes. \u2022 Provides other assistance to the Area Operations Leader as requested. \u2022 Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company. \u2022 Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions. \u2022 Perform all duties according to the established safety policy, including wearing all PPEs to perform duties. \u2022 Willing to work flexible hours as necessary. \u2022 You will interact with every level of plant personnel to insure strong relationships and efficient operations. Additionally, you will meet with customers as necessary to gain feedback and provide operational insight. What you need to succeed: \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business or Engineering or another related discipline. \u2022 Must have 7+ years of work-related management experience in a Corrugated Packaging manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. \u2022 Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are required to work effectively with all levels of the organization. \u2022 Detailed knowledge and understanding of all facility processes is required. \u2022 Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate and lead a team of individuals. \u2022 Ability to serve as a mentor by participating in operations related to all shifts. \u2022 Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. \u2022 Proven experience in budget and financial management \u2022 Have a proven track record of goal setting and demonstrated ability to build, develop, lead, and motivate diverse teams through transformative change \u2022 Ability to initiate projects in pursuit of greater profitability, anticipate potential problems and address them early \u2022 Knowledge and understanding of integration with all core processes, company initiatives and processes that involve or may impact operations are critical and required. \u2022 Ability to facilitate the development of others\u2019 knowledge and skills \u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of capital management (P&L and capital budgets) and analyzing financial data \u2022 Must possess excellent strategic planning and analytical skills \u2022 Ability to operate with the customers\u2019 best interest in mind \u2022 Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and evolving information \u2022 Communicate effectively with the ability to adjust communication style based on audience What we offer \u2022 Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence. \u2022 Comprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities. \u2022 An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potential. \u2022 Benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k with match and more! \u2022 A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.
