Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Complex Abortion Referral Line for Access (CARLA) Nurse Coordinator is an Illinois licensed registered nurse who will provide care coordination for patients needing complex hospital-based abortion care in Illinois. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure. • 2 years of nursing experience • Bachelors from an NLN accredited school of nursing. • Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. • Dedication to and passion for reproductive health and the achievement of reproductive justice and health equity. • Analytical and database management ability. • Ability to work in complex organizational systems. • Ability to function well both independently and as part of a team. • Ability to interact effectively with others in difficult situations. • Demonstrated ability to work on an interprofessional team, enhancing team function and communication. **Preferred Job Qualifications:** • Master’s degree in nursing • Experience in Community Health Nursing and/or Abortion care • Spanish language fluency **Physical Demands:** • Office work **Disclaimer:** The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements. **Responsibilities:** • Completing patient intake for hospital-based care including detailed medical, surgical, and obstetrical history. • Maintains, interprets, and evaluates health records and patient medical reports and records. • Promotes continuity of care by working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams internal and external to Rush. • Interfacing with external hospital coordinators to make appointments for abortion care. • Interfacing with collaborating hospital physician site leads for complex cases regarding plans of care. • Assisting patients with funding for clinical care and logistical support (lodging, travel, childcare stipends and/or provision, etc.) via Chicago Abortion Fund and other abortion funds or practical support organizations. • Participates in departmental program development and evaluation. • Participates in quality improvement efforts. • Continues education by attending conferences, workshops, in services and interdisciplinary meetings.
