Compensation Director

Position Summary: The Compensation Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing MPC’s broad-based compensation programs. This role ensures that compensation policies, structures, and practices are competitive, aligned with company goals, and compliant with relevant regulations. The Compensation Director leads a team of compensation professionals, collaborates with HR and internal stakeholders, and drives compensation strategies that attract and retain top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. Key Responsibilities: + Designs, develops, and implements compensation programs, processes, and practices based on business objectives and the external labor market. + Manages preparation of material and supporting analysis for senior leadership. + Provides consultation and support to business leadership and HR peers regarding program interpretation. + Ensures effective job content management across the organization, including infrastructure for storing and maintaining job related data and documentation. + Guides activities related to compensation survey participation, market analysis, trends and practices, regulatory compliance, and the evaluation of the organization’s market competitiveness. + Oversees the planning and execution of the annual compensation review processes. + Collaborates with HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence team members, and organization leaders to provide plan design, administration and communication that supports business needs and priorities. + Manages budget and financial responsibilities for the department. Minimum Education/Experience: + Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Human Resources or related field. + Ten (10) or more years of Compensation or related HR experience required, including three (3) years managing a team of professional employees. + Experience in designing and implementing executive or broad-based compensation plans, incentive programs, and equity compensation highly preferred. + Strong knowledge of compensation laws, industry trends, and best practices highly preferred. Skills: + Ability to manage multiple projects and organization needs simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-output environment + High curiosity; eager to learn and understand a wide range of energy industry, business, and creative subject matter + Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build good working relationships with internal clients and external partners + Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively + Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret compensation data and translate it into actionable recommendations. + Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. TRAVEL: + Travel required throughout the year to meet with clients and other key stakeholders, travel can increase throughout the year as business needs required.
