Community Manager

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Community Manager to join our team in Cape Town.

This position reports to the Head of Personal Shopper Program.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide Agents with platform proficiency training, how to upsell and cross-sell, how to use WhatsApp and financial planning and goal setting to drive their sales. Run Webinars, Onboarding and occasional events to deliver training to Agents. Oversee and manage the WhatsApp groups, answering questions (or referring Agents to the correct channel for their issues) and using them to engage and reactivate Agents. Manage relationships with existing Agents, including visits and phone check ins, in order to reach monthly active Agents targets and GMV targets. Share promotions / campaigns / strategic decisions with Agent base. Keep Agents appraised of any new products / services / incentives offered. Maintain an accurate customer database and call cycle and support required Agent verification steps. Follow up with candidates to request additional documentation when needed and drive Onboarding attendance.

Qualifications:

Higher Certificate or Advanced National (vocational) Certificate in Marketing, Communications, or related field. 1-2 years of sales / community management experience. Fluency in local languages is beneficial. Experience in informal markets / townships (preferable) Sales courses and diplomas are beneficial.
