The primary purpose of the Community Health Worker is to have an intimate understanding of the culture, languages and challenges of their neighborhoods and, therefore, are trusted by the people living there. CHWs is responsible for the nonclinical tasks and provides support to the team of nurses, physicians and nutritionists.
Among the key duties of the position are the following: Orientation related tasks to create a sense of belonging and positive first impression of WIC. Support WIC participants with clerical and support services. Participant Recruitment in traditional and non-traditional settings. Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’ Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Facilitate learning about WIC digital resources including the Participant Portal, WIC Shopper App (UPC Scanning), eWIC card management, NJ WIC online participant skill building. Introduce participants to WIC technology (Participant Portal, WIC Shopper Shopping App, NJWIC online Parent and Nutrition Learning. Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
