No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary The Community Engagement and Academic Coordinator will work as part of three-person office to support the overall mission and functions of the Extended Learning Office. Responsibilities include coordinating marketing and outreach for student recruitment to the online non-traditional degree program, creating a clearinghouse for information on the program, and acting as a primary contact for support of students enrolled in the program. Additionally, this individual will support community engagement by continuing to develop the university in the High School and Concurrent Enrollment programs that provide area high school students with college credit.

Major Responsibilities Online Non-Traditional Degree Program• Coordinate marketing and outreach for student recruitment in a new online non-traditional degree program in development by identifying populations of students and marketing through on-campus, SUNY and external methods and technologies, such as website, virtual information sessions, paper mailings, SUNY Online and social media.• Collaborate with the Admissions Office, Academic Affairs and academic home of program to the accuracy of communications, ensuring consistent adherence to the university brand and communication style.• Lead student support and act as a clearinghouse for students enrolled in this program by providing students with clarity about academic policies and procedures to support them through degree completion.• Connect online students to on-campus services and ensure students have a sense of belonging at SUNY Cortland and are receiving appropriate support to be successful in their degree.• Collaborate with student service offices to ensure online support and services are available, which will support a seamless user experience for student satisfaction and success.• Coordinate degree completion recognition for graduates of the degree program.High School Programs• Lead the College in the High School and Concurrent Enrollment programs to serve area high school students.• Cultivate relationships with local/regional guidance counselors to identify how SUNY Cortland can support area students and school districts, including credit and non-credit learning opportunities.• Coordinate course development, communication with schools and parents and registration and payment processes for courses offered through College in the High School.• Provide support and guidance for high school students pursuing a course offered on-campus at SUNY Cortland, collaborating with high school personnel and campus services to ensure student success.Additional Community Engagement· Assist the director with establishing a repository of all non-credit learning available to community members for greater awareness of opportunities available at SUNY Cortland.· Support department functions such as student support for Summer and Winter Session, SUNY Online submissions and other Extended Learning initiatives. Functional and Supervisory Relationships Reports to the Director of Extended Learning. Works closely with Admissions Office, Associate Deans, Faculty, Registrar’s Office and Student Accounts. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of two years direct experience with supporting student or academic initiatives in an educational setting. Willingness and the ability to work occasional evening hours. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or related field Minimum of three years professional full-time experience in higher education, preferably in adult/continuing education, academic advising, student success or other student support area; or experience as an educator or counselor in a high school (9-12 grade) setting. Experience with use of technology and software packages such as Banner, Degree Works, Microsoft office and marketing tools.
