Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Bring your knowledge of marketing and corporate communications to produce creative content for a variety of digital, print and event formats for a range of audiences. This role will focus on innovation, operational excellence and customer communications. As a self-starter who works well in a team environment, you will coordinate communication projects, add your creative flair from conception to completion and ensure we are on message. Provide marketing and communications guidance and support to internal customers from a variety of teams Develop compelling messages and stories that reinforce Core & Main’s innovation strategy and highlight the teams and individuals bringing the strategy to life Support efforts to promote acceptance and adoption of new processes Draft newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets and other content, as needed Manage special projects as requested Nature and Scope Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data. Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process. May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or Professional personnel. Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Required Skills & Qualifications Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable Minimum three to five years of experience in corporate communications and/or marketing department, understands the basic principles of marketing and communications and how they fit together Creative and resourceful content provider who formulates and implements original ideas Excellent people skills with ability to interact professionally across the organization, including c-suite customers Organized, detailed project planner capable of working independently as a part of a team to achieve desired results Understands and applies marketing, digital, and media industry trends/developments Knowledge of AP style, Poppulo or similar email management service, Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite Understands the importance of “know your audience” Eye for good design, recognizing that design and copy are partners in good communication Focus on customer satisfaction with a sense of urgency Experienced project manager who can juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines Education and Experience Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising/Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field. 3 - 5 years experience in marketing or corporate communications. Understanding of organizational communication. Video production capabilities including recording, editing, and postproduction. Motion graphic development and inclusion into video projects. Capabilities with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are highly recommended. Editing in Adobe After Effects and Premier are a must. Being able to come up with creative ideas for internal and external facing video projects. Capability to interview subjects and dig deep for answers to questions. Must be able to travel to locations around the US to capture content. Organizational skills important. Multitasking and managing multiple ongoing projects are vital. Being able to interview and interact with all levels of the organization from CEO to front line driver is required. Communication skills both written and verbal must be top notch.
