General Statement
The Office of Admissions is responsible for the marketing, recruitment, application processing, and orientation of new undergraduate students and the maintenance and processing of their records. The office is responsible for upholding Board of Regents and University requirements, policies, and procedures regarding applications for admission, residency, acceptance of transfer credit, and other issues related to enrollment. The successful candidate must have a desire to become part of a successful and energetic recruitment program, be goal-oriented, be able to organize time, tasks, and record-keeping systems, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Manage calendar of promotional communications, including email and mailings, collaborating with counselors and New Student Program Coordinators within Admissions to generate and edit content and meet deadlines for undergraduate student recruitment.
+ Coordinate updating, proofing, printing, and logistics of marketing materials and publications.
+ Coordinate large-scale printing and mailing logistics with off-campus partners.
+ Collaborate with University Communications and printing partners to enhance new student recruitment print, email, online, and electronic communications.
+ Manage inventory, storage, logistics of publications and marketing materials.
+ Develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of campus departments and partners.
+ Extract and harmonize mailing data from university databases (such as Banner and the CRM ).
+ Plan and oversee various unit and departmental meetings throughout the year.
+ Oversee student address updates/corrections provided by the USPS in the CRM and MSU database (Banner).
+ Manage inventory, purchase of office supplies and other procurement needs.
+ Assist the Director of Admissions with special projects, as needed
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education, or a combination of education and/or applicable experience working with marketing or graphic design projects.
+ Demonstrated excellent written communication and customer service skills, including effectiveness in small group discussions and one-on-one conversations.
+ Demonstrated competence using database, word processing, e-mail, and Excel programs and the ability to accurately perform data entry.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Experience with college/university student recruitment efforts.
+ Experience with marketing or graphic design, and experience with project management and associated design programs such as Canva.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or Communications.

+ Demonstrated ability in effectively coordinating/organizing/prioritizing detailed work and meeting deadlines under minimal supervision, while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach.
+ Demonstrated ability designing, formatting, and proofing business correspondence and electronic communications.
+ Provide ideas and develop content to engage a diverse population of prospective students in the process of pursuing higher education.
+ Experience, or interest and willingness to learn, data processing and extraction from databases such as Banner and the CRM .
+ Demonstrated ability designing, formatting, and proofing business correspondence and electronic communications.
+ Demonstrated ability developing and maintaining detailed, accurate record keeping systems.
+ Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in accurately following administrative policies, requirements, and procedures.
+ Consistently exercise initiative and good judgment.
+ Effectively operate work-related equipment.
+ Possess the ability to communicate effectively with employees and the public in person, over the phone and by email.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public in a team-oriented environment.
+ Ability to represent the Office of Admissions and its programs to others in a professional and courteous manner.
