The Gist

Our Communications and Corporate PR Manager reports to the CEO and is responsible for implementing a strategic internal communications program that is timely, professional and efficient. This role collaborates regularly with The People Team, Operations, Taproom, Marketing and the Leadership team on the social environment, business challenges and opportunities, change management and overall communications of policies, culture and the business overall.  This position (80% internal & external communications, 20% corporate affairs) will support overall Lagunitas business goals and the corporate responsibility pillars as developed by leadership and corporate affairs.

 

What You’ll Do

Position Overview:

Leads internal communications strategy, tactics and process

Understands internal communications best practices and stays on top of communications and technology trends

Communicates regularly with C-level executives on projects and communications programs

Town Mumble (All Hands Meeting)

Manages the monthly schedule for Town Mumble:

leads coordination of set up and gathering of information

gathers questions

sends surveys for feedback post each meeting

Promotes engagement with various employees and groups across various functions. 

Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills, through remaining:

detailed-oriented

comfortable navigating through ambiguity

able to wear a variety of hats and manage multiple deadlines at once

Written Communications

Drafts, designs and manages distribution of emails, calendar invites, and posters around the brewery which communicate events or information

Manages and write press materials

Provides media briefing materials for executive interviews as needed

Implements ongoing communications tools/platforms including:

weekly/monthly shoutouts

Leavers + Joiners

Five Things weekly newsletter

Workplaces posts

Additional Duties

Leads and/or partners on select internal activations like:

internal social events

product launches

cultural events

supported by brand team members, Taproom staff and HR

Plays key role in crisis team as it relates to communications and media

Responsible for managing media inquiries and relations on behalf of the company

Understands the media process and has deep knowledge in employer brand platforms, I.e. Glassdoor and LinkedIn

Other duties as assigned

What We’re Lookin’ For

Experience of at least 5 years as head of communications/Public relations manager

Ability to lead under pressure with potential fast deadlines and crisis management

Experienced coordinating and hosting large scale events and meetings

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and layered environment. 

Excellent public speaker

Comfortable thinking on their feet

Proven stakeholder management being single point of contact for all communication affairs

Superior communication skills including solid writing and press release development

Very good organizations skills; detail oriented

Proficiency with basic computer programs such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Bilingual Spanish speaking a bonus

Physical Stuff

Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.

Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
