Job Description:
A vacancy for an Engineering Commodity Manager has arisen within Airbus India Procurement Team. The successful applicant will join Engineering Services Commodity - AIOPJ in the General Procurement. We are actively seeking to strengthen our team and are looking for expert or high potential in a field of technology or business relevant to one or more of the focus areas of Aerospace Engineering capabilities (Aerospace Design & Development, R&T, Innovation, Testing, Manufacturing Engineering, Customer Services Engineering, etc.)
Responsibilities
Global Sourcing
Strategic Sourcing - Co-design with global commodity functions and business, Global Sourcing Strategy for Engineering Services & Innovation Procurement – Support Airbus Procurement in creating and formulating the roadmap for Engineering supply chain in India & region.
Governance - Define governance plans and track project / relationship health, to coordinate Multi-functional teams, trans-national and / or trans-divisional covering Airbus Group business entities
Procurement Marketing - Lead the initiatives to identify market trends, benchmark competitor strategies & supplier landscape. Build sourcing business cases, offshoring / outsourcing models & solutions to contribute from Indian supply chain capabilities to the leadership & management teams.
Call for tender Management - Lead & manage cross-functional teams within the framework of local and global procurement projects with relevant & detailed procurement project planning in line with specified cost, quality & delivery targets.
Team Management
To deliver all commodity activities in the center according to agreed KPIs & manage the day to day operations in his/her perimeter
To maintain a core internal team with required skills and competence & manage career aspirations and growth of internal team members
Setup healthy and professional environment, foster creativity, innovation and collaboration by engaging team giving due freedom and flexibility at work
Enable team members with adequate means to deliver their responsibilities
Appraisal and continuous feedback to team members & Ensure appropriate recognition of achievements in the team
Provide advice and support to the business, understanding their requirements and guiding them to the most appropriate technology products and services
Guide the team to prepare and maintain compelling and executive ready slides for weekly, monthly, quarterly and other ad-hoc executive briefings, reviews and other key meetings with stakeholders
Drive compliant Airbus General Procurement processes and ensure supplies apply rules, standards and business practice in accordance with Airbus policies.
Accountabilities
Achieve yearly business target for the department with respect to business & teams
Build & Implement strategy to achieve the defined vision
Reporting of the department activities
Identification and realization of new business opportunities
Formulation and translation of Airbus Procurement vision for the team
Adequate communication in both direction of hierarchy
Identify opportunities and collaborate with other departments
Manage department level risks and escalations
Qualifications and Experience Levels
Minimum Master’s degree, preferably in fields like Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Business, etc.
Minimum 5+ years of working experience in Procurement / Sourcing / Pre-sales with overall up to 14 years of relevant industry experience preferably in Engineering / Manufacturing.
Strong in team management with at-least 3 years of experience
Offshoring / Outsourcing experience is a plus.
MBA is not necessary but would be ideal.
Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.
Experience of working closely with suppliers or external vendors.
Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements.
Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a GIC or GBS.
Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, processes, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Have a high level of autonomy but not individualist, able to lead the distributed team from remote.
Speak fluently in English
Act in ethical manner and shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings

Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate. Convey verbal and written information effectively to all stakeholders (European / Indian) and across multiple levels of hierarchy

This role will involve some travels both locally and globally for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
