Commodity Manager

We are on an exciting journey to set up a new Innovation Hub within the larger organization but we are truly operating as a start-up.  As we set up the Procurement function, we are seeking a detail oriented, proactive, highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to help us execute our procurement activities.  Ideal candidate will develop and implement effective sourcing strategies in partnership with the Innovation Hub leadership, negotiate supplier contracts, and ensure timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.  We will also need the individual to help us set up the right processes, policies and procedures as we look to implement a new system. 

Key responsibilities:
1.    Place and process purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedure
2.    Co-develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with leadership and Innovation Hub goals.  Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, risks, etc. and maintain a robust supplier database.
3.    Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.  Resolve any issues related to delays, quality concerns, or other procurement challenges.  
4.    Work with leadership to negotiate large contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve the best value while minimizing risks.  Will need the ability to lead independently for smaller value contracts.  Work with legal to ensure compliance in all procurement contracts.
5.    Cross-functional coordination – collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., supply chain, manufacturing, finance, logistics, etc.) as needed to maintain optimal stock and order levels.  Ensure on-time delivery of goods and services to meet organizational needs.  Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fullfill procurement needs.
6.    Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement efficiency.  Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and pricing.  Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
7.    Work with IT team and cross-functional teams to provide required input to ensure proper module configurations, etc. occur for the new ERP system
8.    Help bring new joiners ramp up as the team grows.

Qualifications: 

Education: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or relation field preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.  Additional experience in Logistics a plus.

$82,000-$122,000/year. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
