Commodity Manager
Job Title: Commodity Manager Job Description As a Commodity Manager, you will play a crucial role in interfacing with suppliers, especially during the early research and development (R&D) pipeline stages. You will connect suppliers to R&D teams, assess the maturity and performance of companies, and maintain supplier relationships. This role involves a significant amount of data management and supplier performance assessment, requiring a solid experience in sourcing and procurement. Responsibilities + Interface with suppliers and connect them to R&D teams. + Assess the size, age, and maturity of companies to ensure they meet the required standards. + Evaluate key performance indicators and spending on current products. + Maintain and manage supplier relationships. + Roll up supply chain data and assess supplier performance. + Manage supplier assessments and ensure they fit the company's needs. + Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations and manage Excel spreadsheets. + Organize large volumes of data and distill complex information into a digestible format. Essential Skills + Minimum 4-6 years of industry experience in supply chain management. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP. + Experience with business software like ERP, MRP, and PLM systems. + Strong data organization and accuracy skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Proactive and inquisitive nature. + Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. + Bachelor's degree preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Legal contract experience (nice to have). + Excel spreadsheet guru (nice to have). + Experience in biotech or life science industries preferred. + Familiarity with biology or chemistry materials is a plus. + Scientific or experience in electrical or mechanical fields is a plus.
