What will you do?
We are currently looking for a Commodity Management Professional who would report directly to our Head of Procurement; someone who will ensure strategic procurement for the assigned commodities to achieve the best Total Cost of Ownership
Supply Chain Management: Ensure the supply of materials based on customer requirements at the lowest price while maintaining quality and on-time delivery. Supplier Management: Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure efficient and transparent procurement processes. Support supplier management processes, including qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification. Update supplier evaluation systems to obtain and develop the best suppliers. Cost Reduction and Negotiation: Implement cost reduction measures, negotiate medium to high purchasing volumes, and prepare sourcing decisions to achieve target costs and savings. Provide fact-based support in supplier negotiations with should-cost calculations. Generate, document, and implement savings, and monitor relevant KPIs. Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement and commodity strategies based on demand, market, and supplier analysis to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials. Align closely with R&D and other business units. Introduce and follow up on cross-functional procurement strategies to link commodity strategies with technological market trends. Process Efficiency and Compliance: Use globally defined methods, processes, and systems to ensure high process efficiency and compliance, including the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process and procurement guidelines. Implement and ensure usage of these methods to maintain process efficiency. Market and Technology Analysis: Analyze demands, monitor markets, and review suppliers to optimize sourcing strategies. Conduct market information and analyses on international technology and price trends to incorporate new suppliers and technologies into the supply chain. Provide benchmarking information on component costs, system costs, and underlying value. Project Support and Innovation: Support projects in lines of business to provide optimum input for quotes and potential savings. Contribute to cost-benefit analysis workshops, innovation workshops, and concept competitions with key suppliers. Be actively involved in the product development/manufacturing process to achieve target costs for materials and reduce overall material costs.What will you need to succeed?
New graduate from a university/college program in Supply Chain Management or in Business Administration or Engineering Graduated from post-secondary within the last 12 months. Above average study performance (Accumulative average > 2.5 (B-)). Transcripts to be provided upon request. Understanding of various supplier manufacturing technology and processes, supplier controls and industry standards is an asset. Specialized knowledge of these specific commodities is an asset (electronic manufacturing services, printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, metal fabrication/machining, plastic molding, etc.) You have strong collaboration, persuasion/influencing abilities, and project management skills, and the ability to drive supplier change projects on a cross-functional basis. Having negotiation and influencing skills with suppliers, with demonstrative results in securing competitive pricing and overall terms and conditions is an asset. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality related documents is an asset. Experience in souring parts for product development is an asset. Familiarity with MS office and SAP is an asset. Possession of a combination of commercial, technical and digital skills is an asset. You have a growth mindset, with a passion for learning. Must be available to work from our Concord office an average of 2 days per week. Must be willing to travel to our Peterborough office as needed. You are agile, technically savvy, with a knack for generating solutions. You are a creative thinker with a unique ability to be resourceful.#LI-Hybrid
