What will I be doing?

\n

As a Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily operations, including the preparation of mis-en-place and production. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nKnowledge of the individual menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation, and presentation style.\nMaintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.\nGain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel.\nResponsible for mise en place.\nTaste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.\nSet up section as required by Chef De Partie and Sous Chef.\nBe responsible for minimizing food wastage.\nAttend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.\nBe pro-actively involved in the hotel’s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.\n

\n\nPrevious experience as a Commis Chef\nPositive attitude.\nGood communication skills.\nAbility to work under pressure.\nProven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction.\nA passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career and the culinary arts.\nProof of completion in a basic food hygiene course.\n\n
