Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1- Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will specialize in tandoor cooking techniques and contribute to the preparation of authentic Indian cuisine, with a focus on local Mysuru flavors.
Assist the Chef de Partie in the tandoor section of the kitchenPrepare and cook various tandoor dishes, including breads, meats, and vegetablesMaintain and operate the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking timesFollow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in food quality and presentationAssist in the preparation of marinades, spice blends, and accompaniments for tandoor dishesCollaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely food serviceMaintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standardsParticipate in kitchen inventory management and stock rotationAssist in menu development and the creation of new tandoor dishesSupport senior kitchen staff in daily operations and special eventsQualifications
Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent culinary education preferredPrevious experience in a professional kitchen, particularly with Indian cuisine, is advantageousProficiency in tandoor oven operation and cooking techniquesStrong knife skills and in-depth knowledge of Indian spices and ingredientsThorough understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and relevant health regulationsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detailExcellent teamwork and communication skillsPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environmentFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidaysFamiliarity with local Mysuru ingredients and cooking styles is a plusPassion for Indian cuisine and a commitment to culinary excellenceWillingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a dynamic culinary environment
