Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in commercial and domestic underwriting, ensuring sound risk assessment and underwriting practices. You will work closely with brokers and clients, providing tailored insurance solutions and exceptional service while maintaining compliance with FAIS regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze and assess risks for commercial and domestic insurance applications. Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within the scope of delegated authority. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, providing support and guidance. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FAIS and RE5 standards. Prepare and present quotations and policy documentation accurately and timeously. Monitor and manage portfolio performance, including claims trends and profitability. Conduct regular reviews of underwriting policies and suggest improvements where necessary. Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. Requirements: FAIS Compliance: Fully FAIS compliant. Regulatory Exam (RE5): Successfully completed RE5 certification. Class of Business: Proficient in Commercial and Domestic lines of business. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting. Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and pricing models. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with brokers. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment.
