Job PurposeTo assume accountability for the direction and market position driven by deriving commercial value. Effectively take the key commercial objectives of Digital Commercialisation and translate them into an annual strategic plan. Oversee the planning, implementation and performance management of campaigns, working with the appropriate marketing COEs, agile squads, agency partners and CoE travelling experts.
The Commercial Lead takes ownership of campaign epics, identifies and builds efficiencies to maximise the campaign’s impact, and acts as a bridge between marketing, business units, and cross-functional teams. This role ensures the alignment of activities with strategic business objectives and delivers measurable results.
Job Responsibilities Managing and overseeing the baselining of commercial objectives, effectiveness of sales, brand drivers and retention efforts. Develop and implement integrated commercial strategies that enable the brand to compete in the markets and grow market share. Regularly analyse marketing commercial forecasts, delivery trajectories and identify commercial opportunities or risks. Analysing marketing strategies to identify new opportunities. Developing commercial strategies for channels and campaigns. Liaising with management, marketing, sales, and production teams to drive efficiencies offline and online efforts to grow market share. Establishing targeted internal and industry partnership networks. Monitoring key marketing metrics and developing commercial models. Incorporating emerging solutions and technological advancements in new products. Evaluating data, contact trends and key customer behaviour across all contact channels to provide clear insight and recommendations for further commercial opportunities. Work with Analyst to understand operational process drivers behind campaigns and customer journeys and align these for best possible outcome. Scope, design and baseline proposed recommendations for marketing efforts. Stakeholder management across the matrix structures across GMCA, Clusters and business units Identify and test new ideas to explore new marketing opportunities for growth. Working with the COE to generate actionable insights that will drive the marketing strategy. Develop, manage, and track the budget to achieve marketing and business objectives. Contribute to the overall business unit performance by working as part of the Group Marketing and Corporate Affairs and cross-cluster teams. Ensure the constructs of risk, governance and compliance are addressed.
People Specification Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Field of Study
BCom (Management Sciences) or post graduate degree / diploma in Business Management
Preferred CertificationsMarketing related certificate(s)
Minimum Experience LevelTotal Number of years’ experience: 3 -6 years
Management Experience: 1 -2 years
Type of Experience: Experience in developing marketing strategies and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
