As a Vice President in the APAC Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Reputation Risk Office, you are part of a team that acts as the conduit through which transactions or other matters are raised to the APAC Reputation Risk Committee (“RRC”). The mandate for each RRC includes the review of imminent, existing or prospective transactions, activities and clients which have the potential for material reputation risk to the firm. This is a unique opportunity within CIB Risk for the right candidate to gain exposure on a broad range of business issues and topics, generate excellent visibility within and beyond Risk and create tangible impact through strong execution in the role. You will be part of the APAC Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Office, with reporting to the Lead for the APAC CIB Reputation Risk Office (RRO).

Job responsibilities

Act as a gatekeeper for reputation risk escalations in CIB APAC, reviewing reputation risk related to clients and transactions, getting pertinent information from deal teams, providing credible challenge, reviewing deal team submissions and recommending appropriate next steps Contribute to reputation risk projects and Legal Entity deliverables. Prepare risk reporting for senior management and training to key stakeholders Keep abreast of trends in reputation risk. Become a subject matter expert in the pertinent issues for APAC, with an awareness of current political, social and economic global affairs Contribute to a broad range of initiatives such as technology solutions, process improvements, and new business initiatives Provide support to other regional CIB RROs, as needed

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelors degree Minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Legal or Front Office Banking roles in the financial services industry Understanding of different products such as Debt, Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions, Payments and Derivatives Highly motivated, energetic self-starter with a strong attention to detail, completes deliverables in a timely manner and demonstrates intellectual curiosity  Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to question and provide credible challenge to deal teams; collaborate and establish credibility and trust with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of seniority; quickly understand and assess different situations, make recommendations and escalate, when necessary Appreciation of interconnected risk issues and ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of controls Good analytical skills, commercial judgement and influencing skills Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
