WFLA-TV, News Channel 8, in beautiful Tampa, FL is seeking candidates for a full-time Commercial Helicopter Pilot to join our team. Ideal candidate will have type certification in a Bell 206L-3 helicopter as well as experience with news operations and daily preventative maintenance.

Required Skills / Abilities / Responsibilities:

Current FAA Commercial Pilot's LicenseCurrent FAA 2nd Class Medical1,500 hrs. helicopter minimum total time500+ hrs. minimum turbine time5 years+ flying experience as PIC3 years+ commercial, military or government helicopter experience as PICLocal area experience preferredPerforming pre and post flight inspections of airframe, fuel, equipment and navigational systems to determine flight worthiness of aircraft; ensuring the safety and legality of flight operations.Maintain aircraft flight recordsVFR operations in Day and Night conditionsMonitoring weather conditions and communicating with air traffic control and other air traffic during flights in and around Class B airspace.Must be able to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety.Must be willing to work in a changing news environment while in flight and on the ground.High School Diploma or GED requiredOther duties as may be assigned
