Commercial Contracts Manager – Team Lead
The Mimecast Business Legal team is looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager – Team Lead to join our dynamic and fast-paced, global legal team. This is a new and exciting role reporting to the Business Legal Team and leading a small sub-team of Commercial Contract Managers. This is a full-time role based in Johannesburg requiring shift work.
As a key member of the legal team supporting all Mimecast regions, you’ll need strong analytical skills, the ability to assess and mitigate contractual risk, excellent communication skills and the ability to work to a high standard within tight deadlines. It’s an energetic, solution driven environment and you’ll be required to negotiate contracts with customers from many different industry sectors and work alongside key stake holders and business partners across the company as part of the wider deal support desk.
What You’ll Do:
Supervise / day-to-day manage a small team of commercial contract managers.Appraise Senior Counsel on a weekly basis regarding bandwidth and matters arisingManage rosters and work allocation across the teamEnsure compliance with all Company contracting policies, processes, and proceduresReview & negotiate standard contractual redlinesCustomer contractsBAAs (HIPAA)DPAs (POPIA, GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)Partner AgreementsReviewing, drafting and negotiating Non-Disclosure AgreementsPrepare final versions of contracts and legal approvalsProvide support to the deal support desk for standard contractual changesTriage the Business Legal inbox, legal support requests and redline queriesMonitor Deal Support internal Slack channels and respond to legal process/contractual questions as neededAssist with the submission of responses to Requests for Information/Requests for Proposals, relating to both public and to private sector entities (legal terms and submission letters)End of quarter/year deal room supportLiaise with commercial counsel and ensure escalation of more complex matters via appropriate processFormat, proof and finalise contractual documentation and co-ordinating approvals and signaturesAssist with legal due diligence as neededEnsure legal processes and policies are adhered toFaciliate compliance with legal operational processes (for example exceptions process and protocols)Provide ad hoc advice on legal process and operational inquiriesDocument management – efficient organization of files, templates and foldersReview and update contractual templates and maintaining version controlWhat You’ll Bring:
