**About E&T:**
The Caterpillar Energy & Transportation Segment (E&T) has a broad portfolio of products and services which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers.
**What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):**
+ This role is an individual contributor and must be able to work within a matrixed legal support team framework. You will be responsible for all commercial energy contracts and agreements within the Energy Systems business.
+ Identify and analyze organization's strengths and weaknesses and respond to opportunities in the sales environment.
+ Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of team members engaged in commercial framework focused on Energy System’ services offerings; development of framework for services agreements for differing applications and commercial strategies, as well as lead agreement negotiation(s), find acceptable commercial language solutions for balanced risk agreements and oversight and resolution plans to contractual complaints.
+ Develop and manage sales of commercial offerings in alignment with long and short-term sales strategies; establish training programs for sales team on negotiation and contractual strategies.
+ Support a sales leadership team to achieve successful negotiations of a balanced commercial strategy to drive commercial success aligned with sales and profit goals.
**What You Will Bring (Skills & Experiences):**
+ **Industry Knowledge:** Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
+ **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
+ **Negotiating:** Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Skilled at mitigating commercial risk commensurate with value of opportunity and agreement alignment to scope of work specified / offered.
+ **Relationship Management:** Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
+ **Business Development:** Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
**Additional Qualifications:**
+ Seasoned IPP & Energy Services Agreement background as a legal professional is required for this role.
+ Experience leading commercial contracts in North America and global markets highly preferred.
**Additional Information**
+ This position will be located at our Irving/Dallas, TX or Houston, TX offices. Domestic relocation is available.
+ This position will require up to 50% travel (international and domestic).
+ This position does not offer sponsorship.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$185,400.00 - $278,160.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
