College Student - Strategic Communications -Video Writer-Producer

The primary purpose of the Strategic Communications position is to learn about healthcare strategic communications and support MD Anderson's digital communications through the development of content for the web, social media, and intranet.
**LEARNING OBJECTIVES**
1. Writing, Interviewing and Producing: Under the direction and supervision of Strategic Communications professionals, write interview questions, conduct interviews, attend b-roll shoots, and write soundbite-based scripts to form the basis of at least two short videos. Work with Strategic Communications professionals to oversee the projects through the post-production process. Incorporates learnings related to MD Anderson's video guidelines, equipment operation, best practices and institutional branding. Strong writing and proofreading skills preferred.
2. Communications Presentation: Identify and complete a presentation summarizing findings of an independent digital communications research project or competitive analysis. Project may be self-originated or assigned, based on agreement with supervisor.
3. Other duties as assigned. Attends some business meetings and may accompany Strategic Communications professionals and assist on photography or video shoots.
**ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS**
Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university with a major in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Radio/Television or related.

**POSITION INFORMATION**
This part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) offers a stipend of $18,720 or $18 per hour.04/14/2025
