Collections Specialist
Job Title: Collections SpecialistJob Description Candidates will be working as a credit analyst in a $2bn manufacturing company. They will serve as a 'floater,' assisting other collectors with their portfolios and handling accounts that are severely past due (over 180 days). This role involves reading through contracts to understand billing and collections for each customer, reaching out for payment, updating invoice status, updating credit status/limits, and updating account status in Cforia (the company's AR system). Additionally, candidates will handle vague invoices, determine the appropriate business unit, and process payments correctly. They will also interface with the AR and sales teams as needed and reconcile accounts with partial payments, double payments, or multiple credits. Responsibilities + Assist other collectors with their portfolios. + Handle accounts that are over 180 days past due. + Read and understand contracts for billing and collections purposes. + Reach out to customers for payment. + Update invoice status, credit status/limits, and account status in Cforia. + Determine the correct business unit for vague invoices and process payments accordingly. + Interface with AR and sales teams as needed. + Reconcile accounts with partial payments, double payments, or multiple credits. Essential Skills + 1+ years of experience as a credit analyst. + 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, specifically using vlookups, pivot tables, and running reports. + 1+ years of experience reconciling accounts. + 1+ years of experience communicating with clients to release orders, judge credit status, and update/increase credit limits. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with liens is highly preferred. Work Environment Candidates will train in the office for approximately 2 months, depending on their confidence to work independently. Once training is complete, the position is fully remote, with occasional office visits as needed. The company incentivizes performance for each collection portfolio, offering floating paid holidays or half-days based on goal achievement.
