A Merchant Services Collections Analyst is responsible for contacting individuals or businesses with overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding debts. The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively navigate the debt collection process while adhering to relevant laws and regulations. This position focuses on managing collections for merchant service accounts, ensuring compliance with industry standards while minimizing financial losses. *This is an onsite position based in Pleasanton, CA.* Compensation Details: + Base Hourly Pay: $26.44 - $31.25 + Eligible for Annual Bonus Your Impact: + Account Recovery & Negotiation + Initiate contact with individuals or businesses with overdue accounts through phone calls and emails. + Recover company losses by obtaining payments for delinquent merchant clients. + Negotiate and set up payment plans based on budget information. + Document all communication with debtors, including payment arrangements and commitments. + Risk & Account Management + Review account history and identify any past or potential future payment issues. + Investigate and resolve disputes related to chargebacks, billing discrepancies, and service fees. + Analyze payment trends and identify high-risk accounts to mitigate potential losses. + Compliance & Reporting + Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). + Stay informed about changes in regulations and adjust collection strategies accordingly. + Prepare and submit regular reports on collection activities, account status, and key metrics. + Collaborate with management to provide insights and recommendations for improving collection strategies. + Other duties as assigned What You Bring: + Previous experience in collections, customer service, accounts receivable, or a related financial role. + Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA). + Experience in merchant services, payments, or FinTech is a plus. + Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and empathetically. + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. + Adaptability and ability to multitask throughout the work day. + Maintain reliability through attending scheduled shifts.
