Collateral Manager
Job Description

Oversee the Collateral Function and provide Collateral Management Oversight, direction, solutions & services to FNB Zambia. To ensure on-going robust security posture over the Bank’s Collateral at all times in compliance with Bank Policies, Statutory and Regulatory requirements. Assist the business in the implementation of policies to comply with Collateral Manual/framework, regulatory requirements and business processesEnablement of shareholder value through integrated frameworks, guidelines, policies, standards and resource optimisation;Development of strategies to protect the bank against potential financial losses arising from Collateral Management issues;Establish, align and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for the function to increase cost efficiency;Ensures professional excellence by establishing a high level of organisational co-operation and provides professional consultative support to the bank.Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including external lawyers, FirstRand Group, business and external stakeholders and industry bodies to ensure business is in the position to obtain expert opinion on specialist areas of law.Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislation, industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders. Research and provide solutions on a variety of issues and new business projects within the business to proactively identify, assess and manage Collateral risk.Provision of strategic support and value to the Chief Transformation and Operations Officer, EXCO, senior management and the Board of Directors of the Bank as required.Development and enablement of integrated Collateral strategies, tools, processes and systems to manage the Collateral of the Bank within the business and ensure the bank implements international best practice in Collateral Management, complies with all applicable codes, in addition to its legal and statutory requirements.Development of frameworks which ensure legally compliant best business practices and policies in order to protect theBenchmark current Collateral practices against necessary Collateral Management Manuals and Frameworks and adjust practices as and when necessary.Monitor changes in the Industry and the Business and ensure the Bank is optimally secured at all times.Facilitate Business Unit and Collateral Function relationships. Communication and allocation of responsibility to relevant stakeholders.Oversee the obtaining, recordal, maintenance, monitoring and discharge of the Bank’s Collateral to adequately manage attendant risks;Have overall oversight over the Collateral team;Identify and Communicate current and anticipated risk issues as well as opportunities.Deal with correspondence, collate information and write reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to the relevant company stakeholders;Job Details
