Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Cocktail Server provides timely, accurate and responsible cocktail service and complimentary soft drink service to all Yaamava’ guests. While adhereing to the Yaamava’ Brand Standards, the Cocktail Servers provide beverage service during daily floor operations, as well as for special events. Areas of beverage service include slot and table games locations, and other Casino areas of operation as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Maintains a clean and proper set-up of beverage tray including beverage napkins, small pad of paper for taking orders, a pen, and a cup to place tips in. While making rounds in their assigned section, the Cocktail Server takes orders and form of payment from guests while adhering to Yaamava’ Service Standards. The Cocktail Server is then to order all alcoholic beverages from the bartender and pays the bartender for the complete order (process may vary per venue). Return to guests in a timely manner with their beverage and proper change. Non-alcohol drinks are to be prepared by the Server or Bartender and rung-up under the proper department comp category. Addresses guests in a cordial manner, providing exceptional customer service, while delivering on our Yaamava Brand Standards.
2. Check-ins for all areas in assigned stations to pick-up trash, empty glasses, and ashtrays (if applicable), and inquire if anyone needs “cocktail service” or “drink service” throughout their scheduled shift. Take orders from guests following the Yaamava Service Standards and inquire if they would like service; pick up all trash and empty beverage bottles. Adheres to scheduled section and corresponding break times. Communicates and works well with co-workers and management to ensure proper floor coverage and exceptional guest service.
3. Maintains a high degree of alcohol expertise, including the numerous types of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails available, and the appropriate garnish and presentation standards. Maintains a correct understanding of all beverage prices to date. Responsible for collecting payment for each drink or round of drinks as they are requested, using the "cash and carry" alcohol service system.
4. Maintains a clean and organized workstation as well as completing daily side-work as assigned.
5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education/Experience/QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.
Minimum six (6) months related experience or training required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Open availability is required as Yaamava’ is a 24-hour operation.
Certificates/Licenses/RegistrationsAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card.
Will be required to obtain and maintain RBS Certification upon employment.
