Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the point of contact for DMH Mega Grant recipients, members of community-based coalitions, teams, and task forces in the assigned geographic area.

Help coordinate Peacebuilder trained schools, providing technical assistance and training (T/TA) as needed.

Provide coalitions with T/TA on capacity-building campaigns, sustainability efforts, and cultural competence awareness.

Provide coalitions with T/TA on evidence-based programs, practices, and policies to reduce youth substance use.

Provide local coalitions with education and leadership to build them towards having the capacity to apply for Drug-Free Community grants.

Provide information to coalitions about substance use prevention programs and resources.

Facilitate training and resources to coalitions to enhance their ability to prevent substance use.

Respond to requests for prevention services and information throughout the counties within the geographic area to provide or make available services to all populations and community-based coalitions, organizations, and groups, as appropriate and as resources allow.

Create a yearly community needs assessment for the contract award area and coalition needs assessments in the designated geographic area.

Contribute to the development and updating of the draft and final Strategic Work Plan.

Provide leadership with planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Strategic Work Plan strategies.

Participate in the Statewide Prevention Training and Resource Network.

Prepare and submit the monthly progress report to the PRC Manager for the assigned geographic area, meeting all report requirements set forth in the Scope of Work.

Prepare and submit the monthly reports to the PRC Manager.

Prepare and submit the monthly Minimum Data Set (MDS) to the PRC Manager.

Prepare and submit the monthly Mental Health First Aid Update to the PRC Manager.

Assist with the development of a final annual report based on the previous years’ Strategic Work Plan, meeting all requirements set forth in the Scope of Work.

Participate in the development of Quality Improvement Indicators and quarterly reports.

Attend and participate in conferences and internal in-services as required by contract and/or PRC Manager, Program Director, and/or Executive team member.

Demonstrate interest in long-term and short-term goals and objectives of the department and company.

Other duties as assigned by Project Coordinator, Program Director, and/or Executive team member.
 

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, public health, education, psychology, community development, public administration, or closely related field; OR

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, public health, education, psychology, community development, public administration, or closely related field, who has at least one (1) year of professional experience in a social service agency; OR

75% FTE Staff: Obtain, at a minimum, the Missouri Prevention Specialist (MPS) credential through the Missouri Credentialing Board within six (6) months of hire.

75% FTE Staff: Attend the Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within nine (9) months of hire.

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of the program to which the employee is assigned.

Aptitudes to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned program responsibilities.

Capability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to produce clear and concise reports.
