Burrell currently has openings available for Co-Occurring Disorder Counselors in the Springfield and Southwest Missouri area to provide quality treatment and services in the community for people with behavioral health and substance use disorder conditions.

What you'll get to do:
Share lived experiences of recovery to inspire and support client by relating recovery stories.Describe personal recovery practices and help client discover recovery practices that work for them.Provide support to client through validation of experiences and feelings, exploration and pursuit of community roles, conveying hope, celebrating efforts and accomplishments, and concrete assistance towards tasks and goals.Participate in treatment planning with the other team members and client.Engage clients in collaborative and caring relationship, using interpersonal skills, knowledge about recovery, and attitude consistent with recovery orientation.Assist clients with identifying their strengths and personal resources to aid in their recovery.Understand and respect personal values and culture of self and client, recognizing how they may contribute to judgement and beliefs, tailoring support to meet the uniqueness of each client’s process of recovery.Assist and support client to set goals and imagine future possibilities; propose strategies for accomplishing those goals; support client decision-making strategies and help them to function as a member of the recovery support/treatment team.Develop, maintain, and provide information about community resources and services. Accompany client to and/or attend community activities.Qualification:
High School Diploma/GEDMust have a valid driver’s license and a favorable recent driving record.
Must be a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist
