**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
The CNC Machinist sets up complex jobs on CNC equipment, utilizing knowledge of working properties and machining procedures for a wide variety of materials. This role involves working from blueprints and process sheets to machine parts to close tolerances, selecting proper tools and fixtures, and calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors. The CNC Machinist will start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls as required, develop machine programs, verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications, and follow preventative maintenance procedures. This position requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a respectful team environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up complex jobs on CNC equipment.
+ Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining procedures for a wide variety of materials.
+ Work from blueprints and process sheets to machine parts to close tolerances.
+ Select proper tools and fixtures for the job.
+ Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
+ Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
+ Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
+ Develop machine programs if one does not exist.
+ Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
+ Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
+ Follow preventative maintenance procedures on equipment as required.
+ Complete and scan work orders accurately for each job.
+ Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

+ Report for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
+ Perform other similar or related duties as directed, assigned, or necessary to accomplish the department’s objectives in an effective manner.
**Essential Skills**
+ One-year certificate from college or technical school; and/or one-year related experience and/or training.
+ Knowledge of CNC equipment capabilities and preventative maintenance.
+ Working knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
+ Strong mechanical and technical skills.
+ Ability to read blueprints efficiently and accurately.
+ Ability to produce assigned work in allotted time.
+ G-Code programming on both Haas & Mazak mills.
+ Ability to make minor edits on Haas vertical mill programs.
+ Programming on Mazak lathe (2-axis lathe).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Basic understanding of GD&T.
+ Ability to use basic tools such as a tape measure, caliper, micrometer, dial indicator, and bore micrometer.
+ Capability of understanding setup without separate setup people.
+ Ability to make minor adjustments and be responsible for checking own work.
+ Some type of technical training program in machining/CNC is a plus.

**Work Environment**
The work environment involves working with advanced CNC equipment, including CNC Lathes and CNC Vertical Machining Centers. Employees may also work on manual machines as needed. The role requires working from blueprints and process sheets, and the use of various tools and fixtures. The dress code is professional, and employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and preventative maintenance procedures. **Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Lynn Haven, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00
